Mery Girsang, S.H.,M.H. is the founder of MARY GIRSANG & ASSOCIATES. She obtained her bachelor degree from the Universitas Sumatera Utara, and her master degree from the Universitas Padjadjaran. She commenced her career in YAN APUL & PARTNERS, one of the high profile lawyers in Indonesia. Later she moved to OTTO HASIBUAN & ASSOCIATE. In 2002, Mery established her own law firm, namely MARY GIRSANG & ASSOCIATES. She was voted as one of six most successful women lawyers in Indonesia. Her firm has expertise in foreign investment, management, human resources, recruitment, research, mergers, negotiations, corporate governance, licensing matters, contract, tax, property arbitration and litigation. On her daily basis, she works as a mining law attorney, runs an automotive electrical mining service company, and being a director of several mining service companies. She has about 1,300 employee and 200 expatriates. In her job, she does the legal due diligence, makes legal documents, helps the investors to obtain the licenses and permits from the government, does some meetings with the clients to discuss about their investment in Indonesia, and ensuring that their investment get the legal certainty for their investment. She does everything very detail in order to satisfy her clients.
